DEA Serves Search Warrant to Acme Inc.
An investigation into a Springfield business came to a head this week when the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) served a search warrant to the facility. DEA officials say its Office of Diversion Control headed the investigation into the Acme Inc. office, located in Springfield. The officials would not detail what they were looking for or what – if anything – they found. The diversion control program aims to prevent pharmaceutical drugs from being used or distributed illegally. The DEA said investigations take time; if wrongdoing is found, the business’s license could be suspended. According to officials, the DEA investigates both businesses and doctors registered with the agency who distribute, prescribe and dispense controlled pharmaceuticals.
